Touching Moments
Sometime in the last year, Ellie's taken an interest in money, especially loose change. She'll organize it, play with it, etc., and most of the time, she keeps it all in her little pink purse. We haven't started giving her an allowance just yet. This morning she came to find me with what looked to be nearly all of her change in a ziplock bag. She told me she wanted to take it to school to give to the people with the earthquakes, as she put it. I looked, and sure enough, it was most of the money she owns. It didn't seem to bother her in the least to just give it away to someone who needs it more. Oh, to have a generous heart like that!

The Long, Long Winter
Seriously, is it ever going to end? I don't mind the snow and cold so much, but Nathan has had one virus after another, starting right around Thanksgiving. We had to postpone his first birthday party twice, once because I wasn't feeling well and then he had a fever. He's had short breaks where he isn't sick, and then something hits him again. I now cringe when I take him somewhere, and someone else's child has a nose running like a faucet. I told Mark I almost want to put him in a bubble these days.
Right now we're getting over croup, which included one early am ER visit. Today we have an appointment because it's been over a week, he still isn't healthy, and now he has a rash. I'm trying to get over the adult version too.
All this sickness is wearing on my mood. It gets so isolating and lonely being stuck at home so much. Sigh.
